The final section of our pre production that'll help our final piece is sound. By researching into certain aspects of sound, will enable us to include certain types of sound in the correct places within our work. The majority of all films now have a soundtrack, of music that is included during the film. Popular artists are selected to record these songs so that the film has added extras to appeal to more of an audience. This soundtrack is usually released separately from the film, under separate distribution.
Diegetic.
This is sound that is included within whatever is happening within the scene. This can be the dialogue or sound coming from a music player that is shown on the screen. This sound can appear from on or off screen, but it always matches what is happening.
Non Diegetic.
This is sound that is not included within a scene and does not match. This could be background music, or a voice over.
Parallel and Contrapuntal.
Parallel sounds complements what is happening on screen. Whilst contrapuntal sound does not match what is happening - EG. cheery music playing during the climax scene of a horror film.
Sound Bridges.
This is where sound continues from one scene to another. Even though the scene has changed the music remains the same, allowing a continuous flow of events.
