Opening Titles Research.

Research into opening titles, allowed me to note aspects that could be used within our own final piece. By doing this I was able to research into different transitions, camera shots and title sequences.
With the film 'Mamma Mia' I found the following;

0.35:
“UNIVERSAL PICTURES”
“A LitleStar/Playstone production"
0.48:
Mid shot - dark scene (background)
Leaves a mystery of the character.
Linking to the song in the background.
- Character singing that song later on..

1.07:
Establishing long crane shot.
Shows vast size of the ocean compared to the characters position. Character shown getting smaller and smaller as she goes into the distance towards her destination.
1.35:
Close up on the envelopes in the characters hand.
Shows the addresses of the three recipients.
Making the link to the 3 main characters
1.44:
Cut to close up of recipient number one.
1.53:
Cut to close up of recipient number two.
2.03:
Cut to close up of recipient number three.
All three are travelling to the same place.

2.40:
Long shot of character jumping, and pulling down on a rope. - Cuts to a fruit machine effect which links to the pulling down motion. (As if pulling down on the fruit machine handle) All three characters passports photos spin round in the fruit machine
2.45:
Low angle shot.
Aeroplane flying across the screen, shown from below. - Where there would be smoke coming from the engines is now replaced with glitter that covers the screen.

2.47:
The glitter floating across the screen from the previous shot.
then forms the words ‘MAMMA MIA’
END OF TITLE SEQUENCE.
